Holly Williams is a painter based in Melbourne. Typically, subject matter consists of portraits of the artist or people close to them. There are very personal influences within their work, with main values consisting of trauma, childhood, nostalgia and silly times. Currently, Williams’ style focuses on bright, neon colours and elements of mixed media. Objects such as stickers and glitter are incorporated to heighten the childish effect.Williams currently practices on Wurundjeri land of the Woi Wurrung and Boon Wurrung peoples and would like to pay respect to the original custodians of the land (past, present and emerging). It was stolen but always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
